Advocacy
Our strategy and what characterises us is administrative action. Initiating dministrative action with the research report as a foundation is a strategic step toward achieving three critical objectives for increase protection of animals in the breeding, transport and slaughter industries.
First, with the necessary data and analysis to advocate for increased operational requirements, we seek to ensure businesses adopt practices that prioritize animal protection standards.
Second, the urgent need for stricter enforcement mechanisms to address the rampant issues of unpaid fines and recidivism, which currently undermine the effectiveness of existing regulations. By implementing systems for real-time monitoring, follow-ups on penalties, and stronger financial deterrents, compliance can be significantly improved.
Lastly, we look to using the report as a decisive tool for justifying the closure of businesses that consistently violate regulations, particularly those accumulating an excessive number of fines within a defined timeframe.
In parallel, efforts will be put on activism and raising public awareness about the critical issues within these companies. This includes not only exposing the mistreatment of animals but also shedding light on the salubrity and hygiene concerns that pose risks to public health and environment.
With the support of the community, we will apply collective pressure on the public services in charge, to ensure our proposals for change are seriously considered and implemented. By rallying public support and leveraging the strength of collective action, we aim to foster accountability and drive meaningful reform in the industry.
